About The PGC
By uniting the global research community, the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC) is greatly advancing our understanding of the genetics of psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions. Genetic influences play an important role in why some people are more likely to be affected with these conditions than others. By bringing together genetic data from hundreds of thousands of individuals around the world, the PGC is working to find the genetic variants that contribute to the risk of developing these conditions. Identifying their genetic basis can help us to understand the underlying biology and to develop better ways of preventing and treating them.
